Teck Castle<\/h3><\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Teck Castle<\/a> was built around 1152 and is situated 775m high on the Teckberg at the foot of the Swabian Alb. Significant parts of the protective and summit castle are still well preserved. Mary of Teck, the grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II, was descended from the noble family of “von Teck”. So when you visit the beautiful Teck, you are also walking in the footsteps of the most famous royal family in the world.<\/p>\n

You can either master the ascent to the Teck<\/a> with a hike from one of the villages at the foot of the mountain (e.g. Bissingen, Owen). Alternatively, you can drive to one of the B\u00f6lle<\/a> or H\u00f6rnle<\/a> hiking parking lots (including barbecue area) halfway up the Teckberg and hike for approx. 20 minutes up to the panoramic castle (well signposted from Owen).<\/p>\n

Below the castle, it is also worth making a detour to the Sybillen Cave<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During opening hours, you can enjoy food and drink both in the hiking restaurant and, weather permitting, in the beer garden in the castle courtyard.<\/p>\n
